An apparatus for transporting a patient. The apparatus includes a supporting portion to grasp part of the body of a patient. A footboard unit is provided upon which the patient is able to stand when supported by the supporting portion, the footboard unit movable along a floor by movable means. A frame is connected between the footboard unit and the supporting portion. The apparatus is configured so that the footboard unit is able to move in proximity to a bed upon which the patient is lying, whereat the supporting portion can grasp the part of the body of the patient, wherein the frame and the supporting portion are able to support the patient in transitioning from a lying position on the bed to a standing position adjacent the bed as the footboard unit is moved relative to the bed.L'invention concerne un appareil permettant de transporter un patient. L'appareil comprend une partie de support pour saisir une partie du corps d'un patient. Une unité de repose-pieds est prévue sur laquelle le patient peut se tenir debout lorsqu'elle est supportée par la partie de support, l'unité de repose-pieds peut se déplacer le long d'un sol par des moyens mobiles. Un cadre est connecté entre l'unité de repose-pieds et la partie de support. L'appareil est configuré de telle sorte que l'unité de repose-pieds peut se déplacer à proximité d'un lit sur lequel se trouve le patient, la partie de support pouvant saisir la partie du corps du patient, le cadre et la partie de support étant aptes à supporter le patient lors d'une transition d'une position couchée sur le lit à une position debout adjacente au lit lorsque l'unité de repose-pieds est déplacée par rapport au lit.
