PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article improving a feeling of use by hardly generating vertical creases on a front area by a stress applied to the width-directional inside of the front area in use.SOLUTION: A sanitary napkin 1 includes, on a skin facing surface, compressed grooves 6 formed by compressing a surface sheet 2 and an absorber 4 toward a backside sheet 3 side. The compressed grooves 6 include a front compressed groove 6a extending in a Y direction on a front area A, and a pair of vertical compressed grooves 6bs and 6bs extending in an X direction in both sides along the X direction on a discharge part facing area B. The front compressed groove 6a and the respective vertical compressed grooves 6bs are joined together, while forming narrowed portions 62r and 62l that are narrowed toward the Y-directional inside.
