A system and method for automatically delivering a substance to an animal includes a positioning system that individually places each animal, a sensor that senses the location of a predetermined target area of the animal, and an image processor. The system further includes a delivery device having a plurality of delivery and delivery means for delivering material to the target area. The sensor, image processor, and delivery device communicate with the computer processor. The sensor activates an image processor that captures at least one image of an individually placed animal. The image is passed to a computer processor for analysis.
