PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side-viewing adapter for an endoscope configured to include the number of light emitters capable of obtaining a light quantity sufficient to observe a part to be inspected and shorten the entire length of the adapter.
SOLUTION: The side-viewing adapter includes: an adapter body 140 an LED 150 which is provided in a portion of the circumferential surface 140g of the adapter body 140 and irradiates the part to be inspected with illumination light and an objective lens 143 which is provided so that at least a portion of the objective lens 143 is placed at a position closer to the top end side than the LED 150 in an insertion direction S, in a portion of the circumferential surface 140g of the top end of the adapter body 140 in the insertion direction S, has a first optical axis K whose direction is different from the insertion direction S and observes the part to be inspected.
