The belt tensioner has a base part, a tensioning arm pivoted on the base part, a roller axis fixed on the tensioning arm and a tensioning roller placed on the roller axis. The tensioning roller is mounted on the belt tensioner in one of multiple positions, which differ from each other by the axis distance of the tensioning roller from pivot bearing of the tensioning arm. The tensioning arm is designed multi-part with a bearing part and lever part (309). The bearing part and the lever part are meshed with each other at one of the plug-in slots.
