An inlet port (102) in fluid communication with the receptacle is configured to receive a fluid for cleaning the proximal end portion. An outlet port (124) in fluid communication with the receptacle is configured to eject the fluid and debris from the receptacle. An active connection point (128) is configured to mate with the proximal end portion of the medical device such that the fluid removes the debris to permit an improved connection.
