The invention relates to a process for preparation of a foamed composition and a foamed composition prepared thereby. According to the first aspect of the present invention there is provided a process to prepare a foamed composition comprising a liquid, gas bubbles dispersed therein and a foam stabilizer selected from hydrophobins wherein the process comprises a step of foaming by hydrodynamic cavitation. According to another aspect of the present invention there is provided a foamed composition prepared by the process of the invention.
