An infant monitor and comfort device is introduced herein. The device monitors the infant and makes the infant comfortable by a non-contact manner. The device includes a non-contact motion reaction detector and an peripheral control unit. The non-contact motion reaction detector detects the motion reaction of the infant by the non-contact manner with a distance away from the infant. According to a reaction judgment procedure, the detected reaction is transferred to a sense signal. The peripheral control unit controls and drives a plurality of peripheral devices based on the received sense signal from the non-contact motion reaction detector. The non-contact motion reaction detector may be a nanosecond pulse near-field sensing (NPNS) device.
