To solve problems in transportation of live squids comprising control of water temperature, removal of ammonia and organic materials excreted by the squids and supply of oxygen consumed by the squids to prevent death of the squids in transportation and countermeasures for preventing death and mutual biting behavior caused by stress ON the squid sensitively reacting to environmental change.
SOLUTION: The problems are solved by a seawater cleaning apparatus to decompose and remove ammonia excreted by squids while keeping the seawater temperature to a level to suppress physiological activity of the squid during transportation and a foam separation apparatus to remove the organic materials. The consumed oxygen is replenished by blowing oxygen into an aquarium or a circulation line of the seawater. The problems of the death and mutual biting of squids are solved by holding the squid in a container to enable individual holding. The container has partition plates to enable change of a holding section size to hold one or more squids in one container. Seawater flows uniformly in the container and the container has a stackable structure.
