To provide an assisting member for laser irradiation that facilitates irradiation of a laser beam onto an affected part stably, and can reduce time and labor of switching an instrument from one hand to the other during a treatment process.SOLUTION: An assisting member provided to a handpiece for emitting a laser beam used in dental treatment includes a base part with an opening and a bar-like guide part extending from the base part. The tip position of the guide part is set to a focal position of the laser beam emitted from the handpiece or extends long beyond the focal position.
