The invention relates to a cannula protector (01) for covering a cannula attached to a syringe (09). The cannula protector comprises a tubular sleeve (02) for axially moveable accommodation of the syringe, with an opening (04) for access to the cannula. Also provided is a bellows (06) that can be axially compressed by a pre-determined compression length by applying a compression force against an elastic recoil force intrinsic to the bellows, which automatically retracts when the compression force is removed. The free end (15) of the bellows (06) abuts against a stop ring (20) of the syringe cylinder during compression when the cylinder is pushed into the sleeve (02) so that the cannula can be pushed outward through the opening (04). Finally, at least one radially acting clamp spring (08) is provided disposed at the sleeve (02), said spring allowing the syringe, which is moveable inside the sleeve (02), to be pressed and held fixed by way of a radially applied force against the syringe. The invention also relates to a single-use syringe system with a cannula protector (01).
