The present invention provides an electric fishing reel by using which an angler can rapidly and easily obtain a desired ideal speed of an inching button. In step S1, an initial inching retracting speed is set. In step S2, if an adjusting rod (5) is judged to be operated in a swinging manner, a motor (12) rotates at a set rotating speed corresponding to swinging positions of the adjusting rod in step S3. In step S5, if the adjusting rod is judged to be swingingly operated at a set position such that the motor rotates at the set rotating speed, an inching retracting button (SW1) is switched on. In step S6, the set rotating speed set according to the swinging position of the adjusting rod is changed to be the inching retracting speed of the inching retracting button. In step S7, if it is judged that the inching retracting button is switched on after closing operation of the adjusting rod makes the motor stop rotating, the motor rotates at the set rotating speed set according to the swinging position of the adjusting rod.
