A rotary type safety syringe comprises an outer barrel, a needle seat and an injection plunger. One end of the outer barrel is provided with an inner flange. The needle seat has a stepped groove and a stop part adjacent to the stepped groove. When being assembled to the outer barrel, the needle seat is abutted against the inner flange of the outer barrel by the stepped groove. When the needle seat is located at the first position, the stop part of the needle seat is engaged with the inner flange of the outer barrel. When the needle seat is located at the second position, the stop part of the needle seat and the inner flange of the outer barrel are mutually staggered.
