A fiber, film or foam includes a plasticizer and a charged claylinked gel (A). The charged claylinked gel (A) includes clay nanoparticles (C) which are crosslinked by a charged polymer (A&prime；) such that any particular clay nanoparticle is linked to at least one other clay nanoparticle by the charged polymer (A&prime；). Methods for producing the fibers, film and foam are also provided.
