PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diagnostic imaging apparatus detecting soil on a connection end face with an optical probe part, and to provide a processing method for the diagnostic imaging apparatus.SOLUTION: The diagnostic imaging apparatus includes: an adapter device having a connection part connected with a probe part, transmits light from a light source to a transmission/reception part in the probe part through the connection part and transmitting reflected light received from the outside by the transmission/reception part to a light receiving part through the connection part and signal processing means controlling the emission of the light from the light source and generating a tomographic image on the basis of the reflected light received by the light receiving part. In this case, the signal processing means calculates light intensity data based on the reflected light acquired by emitting the light from the light source, and determines whether or not there is soil on the connection end face on the basis of comparison of the calculated light intensity data and reference data being light intensity data when there is no soil on the connection end face of the connection part.
