The goal of this invention is to provide a convertible vein filter with a reduced diameter in the collapsed state. The goal of the invention is achieved by a vein filter 10 that can switch from a collapsed state to a deployed filtering state and further from this filtering state to an open non-filtering state. The filter 10 comprises a plurality of primary filter legs 201 and a plurality of secondary filter legs 202. The primary filter legs 201 are grouped at one end in a common filter head 16. One secondary filter leg 202 is connected to each of the primary filter legs 201 in proximity of the filter head 16. The filter of the invention is characterised in that each secondary filter leg 202 is connected to the adjacent primary leg 201 to which it is not already fixed in proximity of the filter head 16 by a connecting wire 22 attached in the area of the free ends 241, 242 of the legs 201, 202.Lobjet de cette invention est la mise au point dun filtre veineux convertible présentant un diamètre réduit à létat replié. Les branches primaires (201) sont groupées au niveau dune extrémité dans une tête (16) de filtre commune. Une branche secondaire (202) est reliée à chacune des branches primaires (201) à proximité de la tête (16) de filtre. Le filtre selon linvention est caractérisé en ce que chaque branche secondaire (202) est reliée à la branche primaire adjacente (201), à laquelle elle nest pas déjà fixée à proximité de la tête (16) de filtre, par un fil de liaison (22) attaché dans la zone des extrémités libres (241, 242) des branches (201, 202).
