Detector for detecting a passage of a cut flower along a path, detection system comprising the detector, flower counting apparatus comprising the detector or detection system, and method of counting flowers.
A detector for detecting a passage of a cut flower along a path during conveyance of the flower comprises an arm being rotatably mounted. The arm is mounted in a frame and has a free end portion, and is adapted to have a first angular position in which the free end portion of the contacting member is located in the path of the flower, and a second angular position in which the free end portion of the contacting member is displaced by a flower. A spring member is mounted between the frame and the arm, and biases the arm towards its first angular position. A sensor for sensing the first angular position and the second angular position supplies a sensor signal. A detection system comprising the detector, and processing means for supplying a counting signal. The detection system is part of a flower counting apparatus.
