The present invention relates to a method for adjusting the brightness of an ultrasound image, which comprises the following steps: generating at least one first image which displays an interest area by using an echo signal corresponding to ultrasound radiated toward the interest area； adjusting the brightness of the first image based on an external signal which selects at least one among a plurality of prestored gradation data and a plurality of image data； generating a second image which displays the interest area based on the adjusted brightness； and displaying the first and second images.초음파 영상의 밝기를 조정하는 방법은 관심 영역을 향하여 조사된 초음파에 대응하는 에코 신호를 이용하여 상기 관심 영역을 나타내는 적어도 하나 이상의 제 1 영상을 생성하는 단계； 미리 저장된 복수의 그라데이션(gradation) 데이터 또는 복수의 영상 데이터 중 적어도 하나를 선택하는 외부 신호에 기초하여 상기 제 1 영상의 밝기(brightness)를 조정하는 단계； 상기 조정된 밝기에 기초하여 상기 관심 영역을 나타내는 제 2 영상을 생성하는 단계； 및 상기 제 1 영상 및 상기 제 2 영상을 디스플레이하는 단계；를 포함한다.
