To provide a butt cap and telescopically extendable rod, inhibiting the invasion of sands and etc., into rod bodies while maintaining the elongation and contraction operations of each of the rod bodies of the telescopically extendable rod smoothly.
SOLUTION: This butt cap is equipped with a mounting tubular shaft part 6A to be mounted in the opening part of end of a base rod 1 and a tab part 6B formed at the one end of the mounting tubular shaft part 6A. The inside space of the mounting tubular shaft part 6A is opened to its outside through an opening 6b formed at the reverse side to the tab part-presenting side of the mounting tubular shaft part 6A. A penetrated hole 6c for communicating with the inside space is formed at a male screw part 6C of the mounting tubular shaft part 6A.
