PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood pump for forming a housing by two housing members, inhibiting the intrusion of blood into a butting line exposed in a blood room, and preventing a blood clot caused by the butting line part.
SOLUTION: The blood pump 1 includes a housing 2 with a blood chamber 24 and an impeller 7 rotating within the housing 2. The housing 2 has a first housing member 3 equipped with a first housing side joint 34 and a second housing member 4 equipped with a second housing side joint 44, and the front housing side joint 34 and the second housing side joint 44 joined to each other to provide the butting line 25 exposed in the blood chamber 24. Water swelling substances 35, 45 are coated on the butting line side of the joint 34 or the joint 44.
