The group of inventions relates to medical technology, and more particularly to massage devices for personal use. The essence of the invention is a massage device having a surface made of an elastic material, said surface comprising an electrically insulating surface region and electrically conductive surface regions, which are connected to an electronic control means, a reusable source of electrical current and an electromechanical means of generating mechanical vibrations. The massage device is designed such that the reusable source of electrical current can be charged when the electrically conductive surface regions are connected to an external source of electrical current. A method of charging a massage device comprises charging a reusable source of electrical current upon connection of electrically conductive surface regions of the device to an external source of electrical current. A method of producing a massage device comprises producing a device with electrically conductive surface regions which can be connected to an external source of electrical current and are capable of transmitting said current to an internal reusable source of electrical current in order to charge same.
