PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an oral care composition that has excellent retention of metal protein in the oral cavity and is applied in the oral cavity without sense of discomfort and effectively takes metal protein-derived effect and a method for improving retention of metal protein in the oral cavity in the oral care composition.SOLUTION: The oral care composition is obtained by adding 0.03-10 mass% of metal protein (A) and 0.1-15 mass% of one or more carboxy group-containing water-soluble polymer compounds (B) selected from among carrageenan, xanthan gum, gum arabic and pectin to an oral care composition to be patched and applied to the oral cavity and forming the composition into a film state.
