PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a composition for artificial seawater, which does not cause white turbidity in the artificial seawater when prepared.
SOLUTION: In producing the composition for artificial seawater by mixing at least sodium chloride, a calcium salt, a carbonate and a chelating agent, the calcium salt is mixed with the chelating agent and then with the carbonate. Ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid chelate is preferably used as the chelating agent.
