PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cultivating tomato aiming at reduction in labor and increase in crop yields. SOLUTION: The method for cultivating tomato comprises: (a) growing a tomato seedling P planted on a culture medium 10, and removing side sprouts coming out from a main stalk 16 until harvesting fruit from the main stalk 16 to let only the main stalk 16 grow long; (b) harvesting the fruit from the main stalk 16 followed by cutting the main stalk 16 near the base thereof; (c) growing a side sprout coming out from the main stalk 16 after cut as a first side stalk 18, removing side sprouts coming out from the first side stalk 18 until harvesting fruit from the first side stalk 18 to let only the first side stalk 18 grow long; (d) harvesting the fruit from the first side stalk 18 followed by cutting the first side stalk 18 near the base thereof; (e) growing a side sprout coming out from the first side stalk 18 after cut as a second side stalk 20, removing side sprouts coming out from a second side stalk 20 until harvesting a fruit F from the second side stalk 20 to let only the second side stalk 20 grow long; and thereafter repeating the process (d) and (e).
