PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article that is more highly resistant to the lateral leakage of an excretion body fluid, etc. even when the article is long worn or the excretion amount is large, gentle to the skin and comfortable in the wearing touch, and high production efficiency at low material cost.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article comprises a body fluid permeable surface sheet located on the skin contact surface side, a back surface sheet located on the opposite skin non-contact surface side and an absorbent material placed between these two sheets. The absorbent article has a pair of vertically standing parts located at both its lateral end sides and extending longitudinally. These standing parts are curved up in a loop shape as if it wraps up the front and back sheets as the whole. The back sheet has connections to join the opposite end faces of these standing parts together.
