PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article whose material used for individual wrapping is not thrown away but is allowed to function when it is worn to prevent leakage.

SOLUTION: The absorbent article comprises: a liquid-impermeable sheet for individual wrapping an absorbent body which is arranged on the upper side of the sheet for individual wrapping, and contains a high water-absorption resin to absorb an aqueous liquid and a backup sheet which is arranged between the sheet for individual wrapping and the absorbent body and can retain the aqueous liquid. The sheet for individual wrapping has a bag-like liquid storage part which forms an internal space at its upper side. The rear end of the absorbent body is located in the internal space of the liquid storage part.
