The objects of the invention are achieved by a storage and mixing system forpasty two-componentpolymethyl methacrylate bone cements, the storage and mixing systemcomprising a tubular cartridge (1) with a cylindrical interior, a cartridgehead (7) thatcloses one end of the tubular cartridge (1), a partition wall (2) axiallydisposed in thecylindrical interior of the cartridge (1), wherein said partition wall (2) isconnected to thecircumferential surface of the cylindrical interior of the cartridge (1) andwherein thepartition wall (2) divides the cylindrical interior of the cartridge (1)delimited by thecartridge head (7) into two spatially separate cavities (3, 4), wherein thefirst cavity (3)includes a first pasty cement component and the separate second cavity (4)includes asecond pasty cement component, two delivery plungers (5, 6) disposed movablyin theaxial direction in the two cavities (3, 4) of the cartridge (1), wherein saiddeliveryplungers (5, 6) close the two cavities (3, 4) on the side of the cavities (3,4) opposite thecartridge head (7) are connected via a connecting means (18), wherein a wedge(22) orcone (22) having a cutting edge (20) on the front side of the wedge (22) orcone (22)facing the cartridge head (7) is disposed on the connecting means (18), suchthat saidcutting edge (20) cuts open the partition wall (2) when the delivery pistons(5, 6) areadvanced towards the cartridge head (7) in the cavities (3, 4) and the wedge(22) orcone (22) presses the cut open parts of the partition wall (2) towards theinner wall ofthe cartridge (1).The invention also relates to a method for mixing pasty cement components of apastypolymethyl methacrylate bone cement using such a storage and mixing system.
