PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly safe new oligosaccharide usable for a medicine, a food and drink, a fodder or the like, and having excellent stability and &alpha-glucosidase-inhibiting activity, and to provide a method for producing the oligosaccharide, and an &alpha-glucosidase inhibitor containing the oligosaccharide.SOLUTION: The new oligosaccharide is typified by &alpha-D-glucopyranosyl-(1&rarr4)-[&beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1&rarr6)]-&alpha-D-glucopyranosyl-(1&rarr4)-D-glucopyranoside. The &alpha-glucosidase inhibitor contains the oligosaccharide.
