A venting apparatus connected to a discharge pipe for venting smoke in a kitchen to the outside comprises: a water reservoir having a water supply stopper provided on the upper side of a container having a space for storing water therein； a cooling vessel having a space for storing water in the lower side thereof and an inlet pipe connected to the discharge pipe, through which the smoke flows, formed on one side thereof, and an upper opening connected to the water reservoir； and a gasket provided at the upper edges of the side surfaces of the cooling vessel to seal a gap between the cooling vessel and the water reservoir.
