SOLUTION: The living body observation system comprises: an insertion state acquisition part for acquiring insertion state information which is information including the coordinate values of a plurality of prescribed parts in the insertion part of the endoscope inserted into an object an analysis processing part for generating analysis data corresponding to the respective coordinate values of the plurality of respective parts on the basis of the insertion state information a storage part for storing the analysis data and a display control part for calculating a display period control value on the basis of the latest analysis data and one, two or more pieces of analysis data in the past among the analysis data stored in the storage part and judging whether or not to display insertion assist information which is information capable of supporting the insertion operation of the insertion part at a display part on the basis of the display period control value.
