PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peel-resistant and easy-to-apply decorative structure for a fishing rod by devising the pasting method of a decorative seal, and to provide a method for producing a rod that has the structure.SOLUTION: A narrow-width decorative seal layer 5 having a narrow width along the rod axial line is formed on the coated layer 4 of a rod material, and an undercoating guide layer 6, having width equal to the width of the decorative seal layer 5 along the rod axial line and having a color or pattern applied to the decorative seal is formed inside of the decorative seal layer 5.
