In response to a line stoppage signal, the interval between the pair of rollers is made longer than an operating inter-roller distance during the stretch-processing, and in response to a line activation signal during line stoppage, the interval between the rollers is returned to the operating inter-roller distance. The stretchable sheet manufacturing method has: a sheet processing step in which the stretch-processing is performed on a sheet which has been conveyed between the pair of rollers that rotate at the operating inter-roller distance a line stoppage step in which sheet conveyance is stopped in response to the line stoppage signal and a line activation step in which sheet conveyance is started due to the line activation signal being received during line stoppage when sheet conveyance is stopped.
