PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ultraviolet absorbing resin fine particles, which have small grain size, can be produced by a simple method, and exhibit excellent ultraviolet absorbing ability and various physical properties, for cosmetic.

SOLUTION: The ultraviolet absorbing resin fine particles for cosmetic are obtained by emulsion polymerization of a monomer mixture containing 30-95 mass% of ultraviolet absorbing monomers represented by general formula (1). In the formula, R1and R4are each independently a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a 1-8C alkyl group, a 1-6C alkoxy group, a cyano group or a nitro group R2is a 1-12C linear or branched chain alkylene group, -R-O- (R is a 2-3C linear or branched chain alkylene group), or a group having an element forming a hydrogen bond and R3is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group.
