The absorbent body comprises an absorbent core (31) made of an absorbent material for absorbing liquid and a core wrap (32) for wrapping the absorbent core. The core wrap comprises a first wrapping sheet (32a) provided on the skin surface-side of the absorbent core and a second wrapping sheet (32b) provided on the non-skin surface-side of the absorbent core. The edges (32e) of the first wrapping sheet in the width direction are folded back towards the non-skin surface-side of the absorbent core at the edges of the absorbent core in the width direction and overlap the second wrapping sheet on the non-skin surface-side of the absorbent core. The edges of the first wrapping sheet extend to the positions of the compressed parts on the non-skin surface-side of the absorbent core and are located to the outside of the center line (CL) in the width direction.
