Method for identifying a feature in image data includes accessing data of an image captured by a video endoscopic device, wherein the image data is encoded in a first colour space, converting the accessed image data from the first colour space to a second colour space, wherein the second colour space is different from the first colour space and a segmentation colour space, identifying a location of a feature in the image by analysing the image data in the second colour space, storing segmentation data that indicates the location of the features in the image, and displaying, based on the segmentation data, the image with an indication of the identified location of the features. Second embodiment of the method further comprises determining the location of the feature in the video by analysing image data in the second colour space, tracking the position of the feature in multiple frames of image data, creating an anatomical model based on the tracked feature, determining the location of the feature in video data based on the anatomical model and displaying video with indication of the location of the feature.
