The present invention provides an emulsion composition containing (A) a vegetable oil, (B) a sugar alcohol having a carbon number of not less than 4 and (C) an emulsifier, or further, (D) a plant essential oil, which composition is superior in emulsion stability, suppresses separation and the like of the contained components during preservation, can be applied conveniently to a pharyngeal region without requiring a homogenizing operation at the time of application, and can be ingested or used continuously.
