PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new phagocytosis inhibitor suitable for bleaching cosmetics and the like, and to provide an external preparation for skin, containing the same.

SOLUTION: The phagocytosis inhibitor includes a compound represented by formula (1) (wherein, X is methylene, carbonyl, hydroxymethine, or alkoxymethine having a 1 to 6C straight or branched alkyl chain R1is H, or a 1 to 50C hydrocarbon group in which one or more carbon atoms may be replaced by one or more oxygen atoms R2is a saturated hydrocarbon group or unsaturated hydrocarbon group which may have one or more OH groups or alkyloxy groups m1is an integer of 5 to 15 m2is an integer of 0 to 3 m3is an integer of 0 or 1 and m4is an integer of 1 to 5), its isomer and/or their pharmacologically acceptable salts, and an external preparation for skin contains the phagocytosis inhibitor.
