Disclosed are conjugates which bind VLA-4. Certain of these conjugates also inhibit leukocyte adhesion and, in particular, leukocyte adhesion mediated by VLA-4. Such conjugates are useful in the treatment of inflammatory diseases in a mammalian patient, e.g ., human, such as asthma, Alzheimer's disease, atherosclerosis, AIDS dementia, diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis, tissue transplantation, tumor metastasis and myocardial ischemia. The conjugates can also be administered for the treatment of inflammatory brain diseases such as multiple sclerosis.本發明係揭示結合VLA－4之化合物。特定的這些化合物也抑制白血球黏附，並特別為VLA－4介入之白血球黏附。這些化合物可用於治療在哺乳類病患中(例如人類)的發炎疾病，如氣喘病、阿茲海默氏症、動脈粥樣硬化症、AIDS癡呆症、糖尿病、發炎性腸道疾病、類風濕性關節炎、組織移植、腫瘤轉移及心肌缺血。也可投予化合物以治療發炎性腦部疾病，如多發性硬化症。
