PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel process for particle size reduction of glass-like polysaccharides, and particulate materials obtained by the process.SOLUTION: The invention provides particulate materials obtained by a process for reducing glass-like polysaccharide particles comprising: a) preparing particles of a glass-like polysaccharide selected from the group consisting of glass-like polysaccharides having a moisture content from 0% to about 13% and glassy state glass-like polysaccharides b) submitting said particles to the size reducing action of at least three pairs of successive rollers to generate size-reduced particles.
