Apparatuses and methods for retaining and storing a child's pacifier or teething-ring are provided wherein a flexible pocket can store a pacifier/teething-ring when not in use and a tether can be used to retain the pacifier/teething-ring to child's clothing whether or not the pacifier/teething-ring is in use. In some embodiments, the pocket can be formed in a caddy which can comprise, or can be retrofit to, a tether having a clothing fastening means at one end and a pacifier/teething-ring fastening means at the other, wherein the tether has sufficient length for the attached pacifier/teething-ring to be placed in the pocket, or in the child's mouth.
