The present invention relates to a composition having anti-enterovirus properties. More specifically, the composition includes an extract of Scutellaria baicalensis and a compound separated therefrom as an active ingredient. The composition is confirmed to have a strong anti-enterovirus activity in the samples used in: (1) experiments of antiviral activities of EV71, CVB3, and CVA16, cell lesion inhibition, and cytotoxicity in vero cells (2) Western blot analysis regarding the VP proteins of enterovirus 71 for confirming the antiviral activity regarding EV71 (3) an antiviral activity mechanism analysis method using the replicon analysis method using a replicon system (pRibFluc-EV71) and (4) an in vivo test and an in vitro test conducted in a wider range such as an in vivo animal experiment for measuring the activity of the CVB3 virus using a BALB/c mouse.
