PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for suppressing a malodor generated from raw garbage and the like.
SOLUTION: The method suppresses the generation of malodor by making (a) one or more compounds selected from 6-12C saturated aliphatic aldehyde, terpene aldehyde, aromatic aldehyde, sesquiterpene ketone, methyl nonyl acetaldehyde, undecylenic aldehyde, lyral, myrac aldehyde, dupical, triplal, methyl dihydro jasmonate, cis-jasmone and nerolidol and (b) aqueous composition containing phenoxy glycol-based solvent, come into contact with an object to be treated existing sulfur-containing amino acid or protein containing sulfur-containing amino acid.
