The present invention relates to a device for the extracorporeal regulation of the temperature of a body fluid, comprising: - a heat exchanger (10), through which the body fluid to be cooled and a cooling medium can flow, wherein the cooling medium and the body fluid are hermetically separated from each other and are in thermal contact with each other by way of at least one heat exchanger tube (18, 20, 22, 24, 26), - at least one temperature sensor (42, 44), for sensing the temperature of the body fluid flowing through the heat exchanger (10), and comprising - a control unit (60), which is designed for regulating a flow rate of the cooling medium through the heat exchanger (10) in dependence on a determined temperature of the body fluid.
