PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for isolating target compounds from microbial biomass.SOLUTION: A method for isolating target compounds from microbial biomass is disclosed. In this method, the microbial biomass (which, if necessary, is pretreated to give a dry matter content of from 25 to 80%) is granulated (for example by extrusion) and then dried to a dry matter content of at least 80%.
