The present invention discloses a bacteriorhodopsin-contained bioactive gel and a method for preparing the same, wherein a thickening polymeric compound is suspended in water to form a base gel suitable for skin application and to provide glutinosity with the base gel, and wherein a bacteriorhodopsin-contained culture fluid obtained through culturing halobacteria is combined with the glutinous base gel to form the bacteriorhodopsin-contained bioactive gel of this invention. The bioactive gel of the present invention is abundant of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids and thus very useful in beauty treatment and dermatological treatment.
