To provide a highly rigid filter reinforcing material which does not cause peeling and the adhesion of pleats at pleating and which has excellent pleat processability.SOLUTION: A filter reinforcing material has: an adhesive layer composed of a thermal bond nonwoven fabric including a heat adhesive short fiber； and a reinforcement layer composed of a nonwoven fabric including a fiber having a higher melting point by 30°C or higher than the heat adhesive short fiber having a lowest melting point in the adhesive layer.
