The present application relates to mosquito repellent formulations and methods for making the same. In one embodiment, the mosquito repellent composition comprises coconut oil and an ionizing agent. In another embodiment, the mosquito repellent composition comprises coconut oil, deionized water, soybean oil, castor oil, sunflower oil, or combinations thereof. Another embodiment relates to a method of manufacturing a mosquito repellent spray composition. Deionized water is sent to the tank. Coconut oil is mixed with deionized water, and then the ionizing agent is mixed with the contents of the tank.
