PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collagen production promoter, beauty drink and food, a cosmetic, a pharmaceutical, and the like, which are effective for ameliorating skin aging, skin roughness, and the like.SOLUTION: The collagen production promoter comprises sphingoids or the like as an active constituent prepared by forming a brown waxy concentrate by concentrating a solution extracted from konjacu flying powder and the like with a solvent such as ethanol, thereafter re-extracting after decomposing glycerolipid by weak alkali decomposition, successively extracting and removing a fatty acid methyl ester with hexane by heating a glucosylceramide powder purified by a silica gel column at 70°C for 18 hours in a 1 N aqueous methanol hydrochloric acid and neutralizing the resulting solution with a 4N NaOH solution, followed by the extraction with chloroform/methanol.
