Tricuspid valve regurgitation is caused by the condition of annular dilation in majority of the patients. Tricuspid valve is a tri-leaflet structure with annular dilatation taking place mostly in anterior leaflet and posterior leaflet. Septal leaflet is usually spared. A Polytetrafluoroethyene PTFE fabric ring is created and once it is sutured to the annulus it reduces the size of the annulus and also reforms the shape of the annulus. This is a flexible ring it takes the shape of the annulus after suturing. The PTFE fabric ring has much of desirable properties of being able to get sutured continuous or interrupted sutures. The structural arrangement of the said PTFE material is uniform and exhibits homogeneity throughout and hence facilitating uniform distribution of stress throughout the material.
