The present invention provides a co-crystal of glycopyrronium bromide with lactose. In the new co-crystal, glycopyrronium bromide and lactose are present in a stoichiometric ratio of about 1: 2 to 2: 1. These are characterized by XRD and DSC. It also provides a process for the preparation of new co-crystals. Co-crystals have also been disclosed for use as agents for the treatment of respiratory diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchitis and asthma. Pharmaceutical compositions containing co-crystals as active ingredients are also presented.
